There's a lot in do year round in Dryden. Tours In Dryden
The Dryden District Museum, open year round, is located at 15 Van Horne Avenue near the Municipal Offices. Various artifacts and theme rooms are displayed. Guided tours of the museum are available. The museum is also wheelchair accessible and has an elevator. The Weyerhaeuser Paper Mill offers tours during the summer (Tours are not offered during construction). Children will enjoy the Egli's Sheep Farm & Animal Park. They are open Monday to Friday, 9-5. Tours are available.
There are many beautiful, clean parks in and around the Dryden area for children and adults alike. These parks offer a variety of activities and settings including playgrounds, water sprinklers, riverside and park walkways, horseshoe pits, picnic areas, tennis courts, fishing areas and more. Dryden is also home to many area public beaches and trails for families to enjoy on sunny days.
Dryden also has two golf courses to choose from. Evergreen Golf Course is a nine-hole course located just south of Dryden. Eagle's Landing Golf, Curling & Conference Centre is also a nine-hole course located on Sandy Beach Road overlooking Wabigoon Lake.
In the winter, the whole family can go snowmobiling on groomed trails, try our luck at ice fishing or go cross country or downhill skiing. The Dryden Ski Hill has miles of groomed cross country ski trails and 4 main downhill runs ranging in difficulty from beginner to black diamond. Ski and snowboard rentals are available.
Many of the resorts and lodges in the Dryden area are great for family vacations. Many of the activities focus on water, as there is so much around. You can go swimming, waterskiing, canoeing, and fishing, go for inner tube rides or go for a paddleboat trip. Beautiful sand beaches await you and your children. For those that don;t like to get wet, you can go hiking, berry picking, rock collecting or go for a picnic. A trip into the City of Dryden also offers a lot to do - including a drive-in theatre!
