Ear Falls is situated on the English River just west of Lac Seul, the second largest lake entirely within Ontario. There are six large river systems in the area - the English, Woman, Trout Lake, Chukuni, Cedar and Wenesaga, each flowing through a chain of lakes. The area is a popular destination for fishing trips, hunting trips and family vacations. Ear Falls, the "Bald Eagle Capital of North America", boasts several resorts in the area, ranging from drive-in housekeeping cabins, to full service American Plan packages to remote boat in camps. There are also many fly-in outpost cabins that are accessed by float planes out of Ear Falls.
