The Clearwater-Pipestone Chain of Lakes consists of Clearwater (Burditt) Lake, Pipestone Lake and several other smaller lakes. Pipestone Lake has depths of up to 275' deep, making it ideal for lake trout fishing. Since this chain of lakes is fairly narrow, both shores are visable at all times. Reefs are few and marked. You can stay at a lodge on Pipestone Lake or at one on Clearwater Lake which connects with Pipestone.
You can also fly into outposts on Berry Lake or Loonhaunt Lake. Berry Lake offers two portage lakes, the main lake is filled with Smallmouth, averaging up to 4 IBS. Lake depths of up to 45 feet can be found with many narrows and submerged reefs. The West Portage Lake has depths of up to 100' and has lake trout fishing. Loonhaunt Lake has lots of bays and islands as well as dramatic underwater structure. This combination sets up an excellent fishery for lake trout, smallmouth bass, northern and walleye.
