Duck Hunting in Fort Frances

Rainy Lake Canada Duck HuntingThe Fort Frances/Rainy Lake area has great duck hunting as there are so many rice beds in the area. Hunting accommodations include drive-to hunting camps, boat-in secluded lodges as well as fly-in hunting lodges.

The Fort Frances/Rainy Lake area of Canada has a large population of local ducks and geese, as well, it is located on the prime migration routes for puddle or diver ducks. Many resorts have guides that can outfit duck hunts to fit all your needs.

Mallards, teal, woodducks, Canadian geese, as well as some divers are usually hunted in September. These are all done over decoys in the many wild rice bays located near your resort. Throughout October, the divers start to migrated south. Ringnecks, bluebills, buffleheads, goldeneyes, hooded merganser, redheads and the northern mallards all migrate through the area by the thousands.
