Morson Fishing Tournaments and Special Events

While you're visiting Morson, join in on one of the festivities. In the summer months there is a craft show, a fish fry, fishing tournament and some Pow Wows. During the winter months join in on a fish derby or Pokerama. Tour the Tomahawk lighthouse.

Big Grassy First Nations Annual Pow Wow:
For a change of pace, visit a native Pow Wow with traditional dancing and drummers competing from all over the country. The Big Grassy First Nations Annual Powwow is held for three days the first weekend in August. For more information call 807-488-5614.

The Big Island First Nations Annual Traditional Pow Wow:
The Big Island First Nations Annual Traditional Pow Wow is held during the third weekend in August. For more information call 807 488-5602.

Tours of the Tomahawk Lighthouse:
Tour the Tomahawk Lighthouse which has been lovingingly restored by the Petney family. Built in 1900 it operated until 1962. It's great way to go back in time to the age of the steamboat. View by appointment only.

Morson Women's Institute Fish Fry:
The Morson Women's Institute Fish Fry is held in conjunction with the Morson Bass International the fourth weekend in August. For more information contact 807-488-5719.

Morson Bass International:
Morson Bass International Fishing Tournament is held on Lake of the Woods the third week in August at the Government Dock area. Contact 807-488-5905 or 800-465-6201.

Sportsfest:
Held in Bergland in early September. For more information contact 807-488-5733.

Annual Live Release Ice Fishing Derby:

Pokerama:
