Sunset Country is located in the Northwest corner of Ontario, Canada. We are bordered to the south by Minnesota and to the west by Manitoba. Our eastern border is just west of Thunder Bay.

Where is Rainy River?

Rainy River is located at the Ontario-Minnesota border just across the river from Baudette, Minnesota. The bridge you cross between Baudette into Rainy River is a toll-free bridge. It is a three hour drive southeast of Winnipeg and just 22 km (14 miles) south of Lake of the Woods. If you are entering Canada from Fort Frances, go west on Highway 11 for 90 km (55 miles) until you reach Rainy River.

How do I get to Sunset Country?

Sunset Country is less than a day's drive from many US Midwest cities. All main highways and roads in Sunset Country are paved. From the United States, there are three border crossings - at International Falls, Minnesota, Baudette, Minnesota and at Pigeon River. If you are flying a major airline, you can fly into Winnipeg, Manitoba or Thunder Bay, Ontario. Mesaba Airlines (a Northwest Airlink affiliate) flies into International Falls, MN.

Can I fly into Rainy River?

You cannot fly into Rainy River, but if you fly to International Falls, Minnesota, you can rent a car or use a Shuttle Service in Fort Frances.

What are the speed limits in Ontario?
