Sioux Lookout, Canada is home to many great fishing lodges & outposts. Heading north on Highway 72 to the Municipality of Sioux Lookout, you'll pass some excellent fishing spots. Sandybeach Lake is on the right side of Highway 72 not too far from Dinorwic. Drive a little farther north and you'll reach Pickerel Arm of Minnitaki Lake. On the west side of the highway, you'll reach Little Vermilion Lake. The Ojibway Provincial Park is on this lake if you are camping on your Ontario fishing trip. As you drive closer to Sioux Lookout, Minnitaki and Abram Lakes will be to the east. Just before you get into town, you can take Highway 664 west to Hudson. Along the way to Hudson are Botham Bay and Big Vermilion Lake. Hudson is located on Lost Lake and provides an entrance into the incredibly vast and beautiful Lac Seul water system. Lac Seul has many miles of beautiful shoreline and scenery and excellent hunting and fishing. The lake is dotted with many islands, bays and inlets. Lac Seul offers excellent fishing all year for walleye, bass, muskie(catch and release only), northern pike and perch.
Sioux Lookout itself is located on Pelican Lake, on of many interconnecting lakes. If fact, Minnitaki, Abram, Botsford, Pelican, Lost and Lac Seul are all connected. As you head northeast on Highway 516 which will eventually take you to Highway 599, it becomes even more remote. Marchington Lake, with no road access, is fed by 7 main rivers and is surrounded by 14 other remote lakes which are accessible via river or portage. You can fish for walleye, northern pike and lake trout.
Sioux Looking is also a major base for flyin Ontario outpost fishing or for flyin all-inclusive lodges. You can fly to lakes such as Aerofoil, Armit, Bamaji, Blackstone, Fawcett, Fry, Kabikwabik, Keikewabik, Kezik, Highstone, Hooker, Little Miniss, Lynx Paw, Miniss, Otatakan, Raggedwood, Roadhouse, Seagraves, Springpole, Tuk Bay on Lac Seul, Wapesi, Wesleyan and Wapesi River. Fly to DeLesseps Lake for an all-incluisve vacation. DeLesseps Lake is an irregular, island-dotted body of water (20 miles long) rich with walleyes and northerns.
