Lake of the Woods Ice Fishing, Snowmobiling and More

Ice fishing
Some of the resorts in the area stay open in the winter so you can go ice fishing. Enjoy fresh walleye or trout in the middle of the winter. You can also fish for lake trout in April just after "ice out".

Snowmobiling
You'll find hotels and lodges located right on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs' main trail. Stop for gas and oil, then drop in to a restaurant for your favourite hot or cold beverage. Snowmobile maps of the area are available as well as advice on the trail conditions out on Lake of the Woods. Some accommodations allows youto use your OFSC Sled Smart Card for special discounts on rooms.

Cross Country Skiing
Sioux Narrows Nordic Trails, approximately 18 kilometers of wilderness Nordic cross-country ski trails, trail head located on Highway 71 at the entrance to the Sioux Narrows Provincial Park, brochures available at Sioux Narrows Travel Centre.
