Vermilion Bay, Ontario, Canada (Municipality of Machin)

The Municipality of Machin is made up of 3 communities all located on the beautiful Eagle Lake. Eagle River, Minnitaki and Vermilion Bay are all located in the heart of Sunset Country on the Trans Canada Highway. Vermilion Bay is located at the start of Highway 105, which leads to Ear Falls and Red Lake. The population is roughly 1200 people. Tourism, forestry and mining are the main industries supporting these communities.

Visitor Information Centre
The Visitor Information Centre can be found as soon as you enter the Municipality of Machin office building for your convenience. Helpful brochures as well as maps are available.
Summer hours of operation: 8:00am - 4:00pm

There are several businesses in Vermilion Bay that will satisfy all your shopping needs. The community is also a full service community with numerous services in the area such as a Public Boat Launch on Eagle Lake, an airport, a recreation center, a volunteer fire department, a medical centre, a Liquor Store, Post Office, and much more! Most of these services are located on the street map of Vermilion Bay.

There are also many attractions and things to do in Vermilion Bay. In the summer you can go fishing, attend a special event or festival, visit Blue Lake Provincial Park or attend a church service. Hunters come out in the fall for their annual hunting trip. During the winter you can go snowmobiling, ice fishing or cross-country skiing.
