Kenora is known for its waterfront beauty and there are 5 major beaches in town. Stop in and go for a swim in the lake. Rushing River Provincial Park is only 20 minutes east of town. There are a multitude of restaurants to choose and we highly recommend you stay overnight or longer in one of the many hotels, motels or bed and breakfast accommodations. Visitor Travel Information:
The Thistle Pavilion is located on the Harbourfront and is your best source for travel information. There is a variety of local, area, and provincial material. Our knowledgeable staff will assist you in locating activities, accommodations, restaurants and shopping in the City of Kenora. We have a variety of maps and magazines available. There is another Tourist Information Centre located on the east side of the city, on Hwy 17 E.

Kenora Tours:
Tour the many murals (Lake of the Woods Heritage Townscapes) on various buildings in Kenora. A rich and varied history is portrayed through a tapestry of art and architecture. 20 murals painted by Canadian artists.

Hiking Trails in the Kenora Area:
Vernon Nature Trails - 5 different trails wind for approximately 5km, abundance and variety of birds and wildlife. Located 5km down McKenzie Portage Road off Highway 17W. Turn left at Fire Road 12.

Tunnel Island - Walking trail in a historically significant part of Kenora that offers great scenery, a lesson in history and a chance to see local wildlife.

Amik Trail - Starts at Lakewood School parking lot, just off Veterans Drive. Well trodden tall grass path, about an hour to walk entire loop.

Mink Bay Trail - Located off Highway 17 in Keewatin, Mink bay is a great place to hike and see local songbirds, whitetail deer and other local wildlife.
