Backcountry Adventures near Allanwater, Ontario Allanwater is one of the few access points to Canada's Wabikimi Provincial Park, a wilderness preserve larger in area than Wyoming's Yellowstone. To access Allanwater, you must either fly-in or train-in. There are many nearby lakes and rivers including the Brightsand and Allanwater Rivers. VIA Rail carries passengers and canoes up to 18 feet (5.5 m) in length along the Canadian National Railway line. You can be dropped off at Allanwater Bridge, 59 miles (90 km) from Armstrong, but trains will stop anywhere along the line. Call VIA at 1-888-VIA-RAIL (888-842-7245) for more information.
